MANQ 2193 Advanced Seminar on Informatics
This advanced seminar provides opportunities for students to develop areas of interest by identifying current research related to Business, Education, Social, Pervasive, and Health Informatics. Students are will present their research interests to the class. The seminar is designed for individuals with all levels of experience to develop their research skills. The skills developed through the participation of this seminar are directly transferable and can be applied in variety of contexts and work environments. At the end of the course, students will be able to develop a concept paper of their research area of interest.

MANQ2113 Strategic Business Informatics
This course provides students in-depth knowledge on strategic business informatics, systems and the role information plays in organizations. Therefore, this course focuses on evaluating the methods on enterprise systems, critically analyzing E-commerce and E-business properties, formulating contingencies planning for business, designing strategic knowledge management, identifying and assessing risk management and evaluating the cloud computing issues for business application. In summary, students will able to summarize, adapt and solve using appropriate strategic business informatics knowledge in order to solve business and organizational problems.

MANQ2143 Healthcare Informatics
This course engages students to critically explore the principle of health informatics and analyse the critical uses of ICT to support health care. The cases to be utilized in this course  are mainly related with IT Management and Planning in Healthcare, Advanced Healthcare Application, and Contemporary Methodology Issues in Healthcare. Further, the students should able to develop skills in developing requirement and representation of healthcare application, managing healthcare informatics projects, addressing privacy and security issues in healthcare, evaluating methods in health informatics, presenting ideas about important issues of respective healthcare application and conducting informatics research in healthcare.

MANQ 2153 Educational Informatics
Educational Informatics is a field that integrates Informatics into Educational areas of concern.  At the end of the course, students will be able to apply, develop, analyze and evaluate models that use Informatics in teaching, learning and assessment activities. Topics covered include Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) Model, TEL Success Factors, Adaptive Intelligent Educational Systems, Adaptive Instructional/Learning Design Models, Personal Learning Environment Approach, Learning as a Network Approach, Knowledge Ecology, Social Software-Supported Learning Framework, Technology-Enhanced Assessment, and Educational Informatics Research Areas.

MANQ2213 Social Informatics and Innovation
This course focuses on the social analyses of information system. Topics covered the principles of social informatics, information society, social-technical interaction networks (STIN) and social analysis of computing.  This course also emphasized on the concepts and techniques for the social design of information system. Ubiquitous communication, progressive, affective and  assistive technologies also will be discussed. Details on the topic related with computing and cyberspace such as cyber ethics, cyber crimes and privacy will be emphasized.  Students are required to evaluate the social aspects of various information system   and defend on how to improve the social design of any information system.

MANQ 2223 Media Informatics and Visual Computing
This course is about media  technology related to visual perspective. It covers the information visualization techniques approach such as technical and interactive. Interactive media like   augmented reality technology and its visualization technique will be covered in this course. Besides that, this course also give the situation how to merge the technology in supporting working environment which known as computer support collaborative work. At the end of this course students are able to develop a simple augmented reality system and able to explain the information visualization technique in augmented reality which also emphasize on the multidisciplinary design.

MANQ2243 Trends and Issues in e-Communities
This course equips students with knowledge about the trends and issues in e-Communities. Student will be exposed to the importance of new ways of communication within a community. Topics that will be covered include thesociological theory and practice in e-Communities.This course also covers the knowledge of the physical and logical aspects of e-Communities. Students will also explore the practical issues of design, use of online tools to support communities and the impact on community.

MANQ 2133 Network and Service Economy Systems & Technology
This course is meant to deepen the students knowledge into service economy and networks from the angle of the new economy i.e. service economy.  Participants will be discussing the infrastructure, the software and the recent theories and practices in the service industry. Students will be able to tie the demands and characteristics of service industry with the support given by the ICT and web technology. In addition, they will be able to critically analyze and propose new techniques about Business Intelligence, which plays a major role in decision making for services industry.

MANQ 2123 Enterprise Information System
This course covers the different types of enterprise systems, how they are used to manage an organization’s processes, re-engineering the business with enterprise systems.   It focuses on methods used by information systems practitioners to meet the information needs of enterprises, issues surrounding the development and deployment of enterprise information system in large business settings. Factors for successful implementation, management and maintenance of such systems are also addressed.  Special emphasis will be placed on the relationships of business strategy and the strategic role of enterprise information system.    Enterprise IT alignment will also be discussed to achieve organizational competitive advantage.   Topics include EBPA (Enterprise Business Process Analysis), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), SCM (Supply Chain Management), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), Enterprise Applications Integration.   This course will help students develop problem-solving skills in practical situations related to enterprise process and data modeling.

MANQ2233 Virtual Communication Technology
Virtual and global teams need collaboration and communication strategies and technology in order to participate together in projects and team meetings, to perform their daily work, and to share and store information. This course explores a number of collaboration and communication strategies that virtual teams can use to communicate person-to-person and as a group. Concepts covered include the principles that make e-collaboration successful; collaboration suites and knowledge resource strategies; information sharing, information broadcasting and information gathering techniques; and hands-on experience with forming virtual teams for projects in order to research and practice various collaboration and communication strategies.

MANQ2253 Secure Pervasive Development
This course on developing a secured client server applications on the Internet, inculcating the advanced principles of Secured Development lifecycle (SDLC) in Project Management. Students will be able to operate SDLC on various platform. Topics covered including:

  1. The framework and tools of SDLC  in Project Management
  2. Network programming fundamentals (TCP and UDP) using C/C++ and Java
  3. Client-server network programming especially for secured PhP for the server and Android mobile clients
  4. Evaluate various platforms or operating systems in mobile apps (iOS, RIM Blackberry, Android, Windows Mobile, Symbian and JME), apps programming languages (C/C++ and Java) and connectivity knowledge (Synch, etc.)
  5. Compare and analyse various applications in mobile devices including  tablets and smart phone in different platform (iOS, RIM Blackberry, Android, Windows Mobile, Symbian and JME)
