We are delightedly to inform that UTM Genichi Taguchi Centre for Quality & Sustainability will be organizing a talk on various application in engineering and science focusing in “Empirical Likelihood – Application in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Variable Selection in Regression” delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asokan Mulayath Variyath, an expert in engineering statistics.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asokan Variyath did his master’s degree in Agricultural Statistics from Kerala Agricultural University, India. He did his post graduate diploma and Specialiest Development Program fellowship in Statistical Quality Control & Operations Research (OR) from Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), India. After that, he joined as the faculty memner of ISI from 1991 – 2001.He completed his Ph.D from University of Waterloo, Canada. Subsequently, he did his two-year post-doctoral at Texas A&M University, United States of America. He is currently working as Associate Professor at Memorial University, Canada.
