Biography

Norulhusna Ahmad graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2001 with BSc in Electrical Engineering. She received her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunication) and PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2003 and 2014, respectively.

She started her career at UTM as an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, UTM in 2001. In 2003, she was promoted to Lecturer and transferred to UTM Kuala Lumpur (KL) Campus. Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer at Razak Faculty of Technology and Informatics, UTM KL. Her teaching is centred on the fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, focusing on Data and Wireless Communication. She also taught Post Graduate students Research Methodology and Data Intelligence Systems and Analysis.

She has experience as a researcher for more than 15 years. She has published more than 50 peer-reviewed international journal papers/proceedings in the areas of wireless communication systems, Multiple access systems, machine learning, cognitive radio, internet of things (IoT), and rural communication. She managed to secure grants from national and international sponsors, mainly in the project related to wireless communication. The projects currently she is involved in are focusing on the Smart Agriculture and UAV Communication-related with ML/DL techniques.

Currently, she is a Professional Technologist awarded by the Board of Technologists Malaysia. She is also a Graduate Member of the Institute of Engineer Malaysia (IEM) and the Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM). She has been a loyal member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) since 2001 and currently is the Senior Member of the IEEE Communication Society and IEEE Signal Processing Society.
