24 June 2026 – The AI Showcase @ FAI Competition 2026, organised by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia’s Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, highlighted practical AI innovations developed by students, researchers and staff. The Ubiquitous Broadband Access Network Research Group achieved notable success through award-winning projects such as AGROMADANI, an autonomous rover for crop health monitoring and disease detection; AutoBMS, an AI-powered building energy management system designed to reduce electricity consumption and carbon emissions; and AI-Broiler, a non-invasive deep-learning solution for monitoring poultry weight and health. The event demonstrated UTM’s commitment to interdisciplinary research, mentorship, sustainability and transforming academic ideas into commercially viable solutions for agriculture, energy, healthcare and community development.
