Head

Dr. Noor Azurati Ahmad @ Salleh

Head of IoT Lab
Noor Azurati Ahmad is a senior lecturer at Advanced Informatics School (AIS), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur. She obtained her Bachelor of Computer Engineering in 2001 and MEng Electrical in 2006 from UTM. She received her PhD in Embedded Systems from University of Leicester in 2013. She is a Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) under Malaysian Software Testing Board (MSTB) and Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) under International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB). She has also served as an engineer at Sapura Secured Technologies Sdn. Bhd under Network Centric Operations (NCO) project. Her main research interests include all areas of design, software architecture and testing for embedded real-time systems and mobile & pervasive computing. Her current research exploration are Smart City & Campus, Indoor Positioning System and Green ICT.

Associate Professor Dr. Salwani Mohd Daud

Member of IoT Lab
Salwani Mohd Daud completed her BEng Electronics at University of Liverpool in 1984. She has served Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) since 1985 with over 25 years of teaching experience. She started her career with Faculty of Electrical Engineering and in 1995, she transferred to Program Pengajian Diploma which later had been renamed as College of Science and Technology at UTM Kuala Lumpur. She obtained her MEng Electrical and PhD in Electrical Engineering degrees from UTM in 1989 and 2006 respectively. Her main expertise is intelligent system, computer systems engineering, biomedical engineering and engineering education. Her other expertise include mobile multimedia content development, protection on multimedia content (cryptography, watermarking, steganography), signal processing and artificial intelligence. Currently she is an Associate Professor at Advanced Informatics School (AIS), UTM Kuala Lumpur.

Dr. Azizul Azizan

Member of IoT Lab
Azizul Azizan is a senior lecturer at Advanced Informatics School (AIS), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Kuala Lumpur. He is also an associate member of Wireless Communication Centre (WCC), UTM Kuala Lumpur. He has previously served at Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for 7 years. His research interests include Mobile Communication, Equalizers, Security of Data, Cognitive Radio and Internet of Things (IoT).

Dr. Kamilia Kamardin

Kamilia Kamardin received her BEng Electronic (Communications) from the University of Sheffield, UK, in 2004 and her MSc in Information Technology (Data Communications and Networking) from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malaysia in 2007. She received her PhD in Electrical Engineering (Communications) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2014. She spent 3 months at University of Bimingham, UK as a visiting PhD student. She had previously served as a senior assistant researcher at TM Research & Development, Malaysia for 3 years. Currently she is a senior lecturer at UTM Kuala Lumpur serving under Advanced Informatics School. She is also an associate member of Wireless Communication Centre (WCC), UTM Kuala Lumpur. Her research interests include wireless communication, Internet of Things (IoT), wearable communication, body centric communication, antennas and metamaterials.

Dr. Suriani Mohd Sam

Suriani Mohd Sam received her Bachelor of Electronic Engineering from University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru in 1999. Upon graduation, she joined Vanguard as an engineer before joining UTM Kuala Lumpur as a tutor in 2000. She obtained her Master of Electrical Engineering (M.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering from UTM in 2003. She completed her PhD in Electrical Engineering majoring in Data Communication from UTM in 2013. Currently she is a senior lecturer serving under Advanced Informatics School, UTM. Her current research interest are in computer network communication, networking, mobile communication, communication quality of service (QoS) and Internet of Things (IoT).

Mr. Yusnaidi Md Yusof

Member of IoT Lab
Yusnaidi Md Yusof received his Diploma of Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Computer Graphics) from UTM in 1995 and 1997 respectively. He completed his Master in Computer Science (Software Engineering) at UTM in 2003. He is now pursuing his PhD degree at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), UTM Kuala Lumpur. His research mainly focus on the efficiency of energy consumption for data communication and routing protocols of sensors in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). He started his career as a lecturer at UTM Kuala Lumpur under Department of Computer Science since 1998 and now he serves under Advanced Informatics School (AIS). His current research interests are Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), Internet of Things (IoT), Embedded Systems & Programming, and Mobile Ad-hoc Computing.

Dr. Suriayati Chuprat

Member of IoT Lab
Suriayati Chuprat graduated with Bachelor Degree of Computer Science (Software Engineering/MIS) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 1995. She had previously worked at SAPURA Technology and PERNEC Corporation. She joined UTM in 1996 and were attached to the College of Science and Technology. In the year 2000, she completed her Master of Computer Science (Real-time Software Engineering) at UTM. She obtained her PhD (Mathematics) from UTM Skudai in 2009. She was a PhD Visiting student at University of North Carolina, USA. She did her post-doctoral at the University of York, United Kingdom from 2013 to 2014. Currently she serves as senior lecturer at Advanced Informatics School of UTM.

Dr. Hafiza Abas

Member of IoT Lab
Hafiza Abas is a lecturer at Advanced Informatics School (AIS), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Kuala Lumpur. She actively conducts research and publishes books apart from teaching and supervising graduate students. Hafiza has produced a number of books, teaching modules, translation book, and journals. She also participates in numerous conferences and research exhibitions in national and international levels as committee member, judge and reviewer. She has recently published two books entitled “Bahasa Melayu untuk Murid Disleksia” and “Panduan Guru: Masalah Pembelajaran Spesifik Disleksia”. Her research interests relate to students with augmented reality and multimedia; learning disabilities such as dyslexia, remedial students and autism; and computer applications such as apps, mobile technology and web. She is also a certified software tester in CP-MAT (Certified Professional – Master Agile Testing).
