MESSAGE FROM AROSHE2021 CHAIR
AROSHE 2021 is a platform for sharing knowledge in facing of high tech world challenges. The rapid advances in the new digital age technology certainly pose great challenges to the safety and health aspects of the workforce that will face different work environments and experiences.
But from a positive standpoint, the challenges of the industrial revolution and digital technology can actually help employers to prepare better protection to their employees and will achieve greater competitiveness through better OSH management systems.
The development of the Industrial Revolution has now entered the fourth or better known as IR 4.0, which is the fast evolution of computer systems and automation processes. IR 4.0 is also an era of Internet-of Things with smartphones connected to the internet has also influenced all parties, especially all sectors of labour in implementing policy and regulatory compliance to achieve zero accident rates.
This can be done through the use of digital technologies that accelerate the process of early detection, as well as develop preventive measures as well as implement new enforcement systems and policies through law enforcement, including amendments to the OSH act, regulations and guidelines in line with the challenges of the IR 4.0 era.
In addition, safe living practices and increased levels of safety awareness among the workers and the community can create a sustainable health, safety and environment management system.
AROSHE2021 is using themed “New challenges of OSH in the Industry 4.0 era”, this conference is addressing challenges and improvement the safety and health of workers by early detection of risk, development of preventive measures and implementation of OSH systems and policies in new digital era. The integration of computation, networking and physical processes that characterize the IR4.0 and explore new challenges to the occupational safety and health (OSH) aspect.
